With the crap that went down on Monday (more on that later), I didn't blog about our weekend at all, which was actually pretty good.
Marc and I woke up early on Saturday morning and drove to Pescadero for Bandit's herding trial. We met up with Jan and another Jan, and watched the first group of dogs compete on ducks. Then came the JHD class - Bandit did pretty well! He didn't lie down quite as well as he did the last time, but he did stay and do a nice fetch in the beginning. So now he gets his title, yay!
The four of us had a nice picnic lunch there, and we left in the early afternoon.
We got home, rested a bit, and then drove down to Fremont to meet with my family for dinner for my dad's birthday. Then it was back to Dublin with my brothers to meet up with Elaine, Cynthia and Steve to watch The Dark Knight. Really good movie, although it probably could've been a half-hour shorter. But Heath Ledger, hype notwithstanding, was really good.
Sunday morning I went herding as usual, then I went to meet with someone at Petsmart, who ended up adopting April, our momma cat. So all our fosters are out now!
We had dinner that evening with Steve and Erin and the kids. We all rode in their SUV and I rode in the third-row seats with Jacob in the back. I was talking about Wii Fit and how I was actually gaining weight using it. When we all got out of the car, I needed a little help from Marc to hop out (it's a tight squeeze back there!) and Jacob said, "Maybe if you weighed less you could get out easier." OMG. Hilarious. He got in a little bit of trouble for it, but Marc and I were cracking up.
As for work, we had our department picnic yesterday, which was just awesome in its timing. It turned out to not be a bad afternoon - we all actually managed to have some fun.
Anyways, time to get to bed, I'll try to blog from the lab tomorrow.
