My weekend was pretty swamped, which meant that yet again, I failed to get any pictures taken care of. This is the only one I had time to upload:
Cougar!
This was taken at the Cal Women's Football Huddle. Deepali and I went Friday afternoon/evening. We had such an awesome time. It seriously was so much fun. There were about 400 (!) women there, of all ages, and it was a sort of football "camp."
Coach Tedford and the rest of his staff were there, as were a bunch of players. They set up 16 stations for all the different positions and parts of the game, and we were split up into a bunch of groups that rotated through all the stations.
At each station the coaches and players explained to us a bit about what each position does and then put us through drills. We got to push the o-line sled, run a quick out and catch the ball, carry the ball like a running back over those little steppy things they have and then lower our shoulders and run through the blocking pads that the running backs were holding, tackle a dummy, kick a 10-yard field goal (I was the closest to kicking mine over the crossbar - it just barely missed!), and lots of other stuff.
We also got to tour the facilities - see the locker room and the new uniforms, check out the weight room, the treatment room, and got a demonstration of how they break down game film.
In between that all, we mobbed the players and coaches for pictures. :) They were all very nice and seemed to enjoy entertaining all of the ladies, haha. One player asked Deepali and I if we were sorority girls. I said, "If only!"
We had so much fun. I think next year we'll try to recruit more friends to go, because it's just a great experience.
Afterwards, Deepali and I drove down to Dublin and the two of us went to see the XF movie. Viewing #4 for me.
Saturday, Marc and I went to his coworker's wedding in the afternoon. It was at this church in San Jose, and the strangest thing happened in the middle of the ceremony. Some transient walked into the church, wearing a backwards baseball cap and a baseball shirt and generally looking unkempt. He was also carry a sleeping bag or knapsack of some sort. He came in and sat down in one of the rows, next to this little girl. I spotted that and kept my eye on him.
Then he got up, and started to walk around. He went up to the front, and proceeded to walk right in front of all the groomsmen, while the ceremony was going on. Then he walked back around, and took another seat, next to these three young ladies. After a few minutes, all three of the girls quickly got up and moved across the aisle to sit in different seats.
The guy sat there for a few more minutes, and I could see that there were some people who looked ready to say something if his behavior escalated, but no one wanted to cause a scene otherwise. Everyone was pretty much watching him at this point. Finally, he got up, put his baseball cap on top of the sleeping bag which he cradled in his arms. Then he walked out, talking to the bag as he left.
So. Strange.
We hung out with my brothers for a bit in between the ceremony and the reception, and then didn't do much after the reception as we got home fairly late.
Sunday I got up early and took Bandit herding, and then went to go see the XF movie with another friend. Viewing #5.
Afterwards, Marc and I went to Fremont to have dinner with my family, my aunt and cousins, and my grandmother. Apparently one of my cousins wants to see the XF movie, so I may be in for viewing #6 this weekend, ha!
I spent most of the rest of my evening working on my resume. Sucks.
