Kept pretty busy this weekend and managed to get nothing substantive done, as usual. Well, that's not entirely true. I did manage to get two of the foster cats adopted out on Saturday, which was awesome. We're down to one now. I'm hoping to have them all adopted out before their foster comes back from vacation.
Marc had to work all day Saturday, and my brothers came over early to watch the atrocious Cal game. I've decided I'm not watching any more away games at our house. This is the third year now that it's been bad ju-ju. Tennessee '06, USC '06, Arizona '06, UCLA '07, Colorado St. '07 (we won that game, but didn't nearly dominate like we should have), and I forget what else. Bowl games are the only ones that work out well. Everything else is horrible.
The only consolation was that most of the rest of the Pac-10 did poorly, and UCLA got embarrassed a lot more than we did.
I grabbed lunch with my brothers, and then dropped the kitties off at Petsmart. In the evening, I drove down to Fremont to pick up my grandmother and meet up with Marc and the rest of my family for dinner. There's a new Chinese restaurant down there that's actually pretty good. We hung out at my parents' house for a little bit afterwards - I caught like 5 minutes of the USC game before being sick of it. Did anyone really think Ohio St. had a chance? The score was pretty much what I figured it would be.
I took Bandit herding Sunday morning - during one of our breaks, he got obsessed with this squirrel that was running along the fence and trees. There's a tall chain-link fence, and the squirrel was running along it - Bandit was staring up at it and chasing it and not paying attention to where he was going. In quintissential Bandit style, he tripped and stumbled into not one, but two water troughs, and made a big splashy mess. He never took his eyes off the squirrel the whole time.
Then the squirrel perched himself in a tree branch, and he was actually staring down at the dog, who was staring up at him. The squirrel was twitching his tail furiously, and was "barking" at the dog! Even when Bandit gave up and went back to looking at sheep, the squirrel was eyeing him the whole time. Ornery little sucker.
Marc and I then had a late lunch with Jan at this Greek place that was pretty decent. We vegged the rest of the day.
