Weekend

Our weekend was a low-key affair, which was just as I'd hoped it would be. We went to my parents' Saturday afternoon for dinner (it was supposed to be a barbecue, but ended up being a bunch of takeout and mish-mash of food that my mom picked up), and hung out there for a bit watching college football. We brought Bandit with us so that he could play with Harvey.

Sunday I took the dog herding for the last time (with Jan at least). Marc went this time too. I still don't know what we'll do for herding in the future. I may have to take him to other places that are further away, and maybe only herd once a month or something.

We came home and watched more football and did nothing else for the rest of the day.

Last night, we got home from work, watched the rest of the Monday Night Football game (I think maybe we watched too much football this weekend), and then watched the new "Heroes." I'm not sure how I feel yet about this season. It seems a bit uneven. I'm definitely still not feeling the Mohinder storyline, and the Nathan/Tracy thing is sort of boring.

During that, Marc and I were trying to figure out my new health care plans at work (I know, it's going to be moot soon). They're getting rid of Pacificare, which is the HMO I use now, and moving to Blue Cross PPO or Kaiser HMO. I don't want to do Kaiser, so the only option would be the PPO. What's weird is that there's a PPO with a Wellness Option, and a PPO Medical only. The Medical only plan sucks, it doesn't cover routine care and checkups and a bunch of other stuff. But from what we can tell, it costs exactly the same as the Wellness plan. Regardless of which plan I pick, the same amount of money comes out of my paycheck each month. And both plans have the same annual deductible and the same annual maximum. So I'm not sure why someone wouldn't pick the Wellness Option.

Our other option would be for me to go under Marc's HMO, but we'll have to figure out the financials, because there may be a surcharge since I have employer-offered health care.

Anyways, after wrangling with that, I went to bed and conked out.
