We added more lights to the house over the weekend to try to one-up the neighbors. I still think we need more, but we've just been too busy shopping to take time to go look for more decorations. I would take a picture, but I don't feel like standing in the rain. One thing we discovered while adding the additional lights was that one of our deer, which looked like it had a broken motor last week, suddenly started moving again. It's a Christmas miracle! Unfortunately, our tree doesn't look quite as lucky. We tried drilling holes in the base of the trunk, but it's still not drinking any water. And it's starting to turn brown. Sad.

I know I've been neglecting to blog, even moreso than usual. To be honest, the last couple of weeks have been, well, downright shitty, and I just haven't been in the mood to write. On the bright side of things, after tomorrow I'll officially be on vacation for two weeks. We have no plans to go anywhere, except maybe to ski. One of my goals is to work on the fish tank, which has been neglected even worse than my blogging.
Marc and I were pretty busy this weekend, mostly being productive. Saturday morning Marc went and got the Rav4 smogged (I was a little afraid it wouldn't pass, but it did). It was funny, because he called the smog check place, but they weren't open yet. A little while later, we got a call, and it turned out to be from the same place. Marc hadn't left a message or anything - the guy there saw our number on their missed calls and called us back!
That was a nice long weekend! We had a nice, low-key Thanksgiving with my parents, grandma, aunt and uncle and cousin. My mom didn't cook too much, so we didn't really go overboard on food for once. Marc had himself a generous helping of white meat, since almost everyone else in my family, including me, prefers dark meat.
