Marc and I were pretty busy this weekend, mostly being productive. Saturday morning Marc went and got the Rav4 smogged (I was a little afraid it wouldn't pass, but it did). It was funny, because he called the smog check place, but they weren't open yet. A little while later, we got a call, and it turned out to be from the same place. Marc hadn't left a message or anything - the guy there saw our number on their missed calls and called us back!
I mostly just hung out in my PJs while Marc was out getting that done. I can't remember the last time I actually slept in until 10 or 11 on a weekend. It might be that my internal clock is finally adjusting itself to my age. Even though we stayed up until 1am the previous night, I think I still woke up at 7 and ended up lying in bed until 8:30.
We ate lunch while we watched the Cal/Washington game at noon. It was pretty much a no-contest - Cal beat Washington 48-7. Still fun to watch, though.
After the game, we went out to go look at Christmas trees. We still have our fake tree, but went with a real one last year and decided to do a real one again this year. We didn't really see any that we liked, so we went back home.
Pretty much right after that we headed down to Fremont to meet my family for dinner to celebrate my brothers' birthday. We went back to my parents' house after that, but we were both pretty tired, so we headed home at around 9:30 or so. I pretty much conked out after we got home.
Sunday morning we slept in a little bit later, and then got up and went tree shopping again. This time we went to a different lot, and finally ended up finding a tree we were satisfied with. It was a bit tall, so we had them cut off quite a bit from the bottom, and it still ended up being pretty tall. There's clearance between the top and the ceiling, but we'll have to see how well our Santa topper fits up there.
So we got the tree home, ate lunch, then pulled the tree off the car and got it into the house without too much trouble. We pulled all of our Christmas decorations out of storage, and started decorating the front of the house. I kept running in and out of the house just because it was so cold outside. But, we managed to get pretty much everything done before it got dark. We'll probably work on decorating the tree tonight or tomorrow. I think we're going to need more lights, since it's a pretty big tree.
