Nighttime Blogging

Didn't get a chance to blog during the day today, so I'm catching up tonight. It was my boss' last day at work today, so a bunch of us went out for lunch. It was kind of sad, I have to say, as he'd been my boss for almost 7 years, and we've had a good working relationship. His (now former) boss is now my boss, which I think will be fine, as I get along with her really well. It's only for 5 more months anyways.

Had a good weekend - after work on Friday I went over to our group head's house for a margarita party, which was fun, but also a little odd, because it was just him and us five women, as none of the men in our group could make it. Still, we all rarely hang out outside of work, so it was a nice change of pace.

Marc and I rented Religulous that night - it was entertaining/provoking, but it did get a little repetitive after a while.

Saturday we slept in, and did a little shopping during the day. In the evening we went over to my aunt and uncle's house to celebrate my cousin's birthday as well as my uncle's birthday. Had a good time hanging out and playing board games, and got home pretty late.

We woke up early Sunday morning to go watch Steve and Jacob have a race at the local high school track. I guess they'd made a bet as to who could run more laps in 50 minutes (or whoever lasted longer). Jacob's prize was a Wii game if he won - I think Steve's prize was a foot rub from Jacob if he won.

The race ended up only lasting 20 minutes (I think), when Steve finally gave up. I think he'd run 6 laps around the track at that point, but Jacob was on lap 9! Was funny, because Steve was going slow and trying to conserve energy while also trying to psych Jacob out and get him to use up all his energy. Jacob ran pretty fast the whole time, and didn't even seem to be out of breath. On top of all that, he went and played in this pickup soccer game right after for like 30 minutes. Kids and their crazy energy.

We went and ran some errands afterwards, and hung out at home for a bit. Then we went to Steve and Erin's house for dinner, and played with Jacob and Allison's new Wii games. Had a fun time with Jennifer too - she's always been kind of shy with us (me at least, not sure about Marc), but at some point in the evening she decided I was alright, because she started bringing me Lego "bocks" to play with. Then she started bringing me books and saying, "read!" It was cute, because she'd climb up onto the couch and sit next to me while I read, and as soon as we'd finish one, she'd bring me another. I think we went through like six books or something before she ran out of books. When I was later wrestling with Allison (her idea, lol) and I was lying on my back on the floor, Jennifer came over and literally flung herself on my chest and was just lying there with her face an inch from mine giggling like crazy. So freaking cute.

Not much going on tonight - just finished watching "Heroes," although I'm not sure what exactly happened. I think the show is slightly improved, but it's too little, too late, as I just can't seem to get myself to care much anymore. So sad when a favorite show becomes such a disappointment. Hopefully none of my other favorites turn out like that (I'm looking at you, "Lost"!).
