Stuffs

Man, life is a little crazy these days. Probably explains why when I'm at home, with nothing pressing to do, all I want to do is just sit on the couch and veg. Today is a slower day at work, which is nice, because I've been running around all week. My boss's last day at work is Monday, so I'm organizing a lunch for him, and I've also got to get a card as well as some sort of gift for him tonight. And I have no idea what.

In the meantime, everything is getting transitioned over to me, so there's a lot more stuff on my plate right now. And the sad thing is, come September, I won't be doing any of this anymore, so it's hard to see what the purpose of it all is. Although surprisingly, I haven't felt much lack of motivation like I know others have. I'm happy to just do my job until the end - the only real stressful thing is the fact that I need to start looking for options afterwards, and even with that I'm not freaking out...yet.

Got a call from my IVF doctor yesterday, who just wanted to get in touch and confirm that we're set to start the cycle in April (will most likely be mid-April). When we start, I'll be going back on birth control pills for a week, followed by 4 weeks (!) of injections leading up to egg retrieval, PGD testing, and transfer. That's then followed by two weeks of progesterone injections (with a big, horrible needle). Crazy.

I took Bandit to agility as usual last night. He's so funny. Most of the jumps we have are single jumps (the bar is simply a PVC rod). Occassionally, we have double jumps, which are basically just two singles lined up next to each other, so that the dog has to jump over two bars. We were walking over to start a course, and the double jump happened to be in Bandit's path. He decided to nonchalantly jump over it instead of walking around it, and must have thought it was just a single jump, because he jumped so lazily that his front feet ended up landing between the two jumps, and his chin hit and knocked over the second bar. Cracked me up - it's just classic, clutzy Bandit behavior.

Afterwards, I got home, ate dinner while watching the first half of "AI," and then settled in for "Lost." Stop here if you don't want to read about last night's ep or don't care.

I thought it was an okay episode. I like Sayid, but his centric episodes sort of leave me cold. And the flashback stuff they showed wasn't very interesting. With the return of the O5, it seems like we're back to where people don't just talk about stuff anymore - I don't get why Sayid was being so uncooperative, but I think if Sawyer had really set him down and explained to him just how delicate and dire the situation was, he might have been able to talk some sense into him. But then I guess that wouldn't have moved the story along. They'd all end up living in Dharmaville waiting for Locke or someone with a plan, to return. But still, they've got 15 years until the purge to figure it out!

I was a bit spoiled on the Ben getting shot bit, so it wasn't a huge shocker for me. It's one instance where I'm sad that I was spoiled about it, because I probably would've been really blown away (no pun intended). Lots of questions with this one - is Daniel's rule of "whatever happened, happened" true? If that's the case, then we should assume that Ben lives, and that possibly Sayid has helped to catalyse the creation of the horrible man Ben becomes? I'm going to assume that the "rules" as Daniel states them are true - but with Desmond being special, I'm guessing he comes into play at some point and changes the way things unfold.

I enjoyed the few Dharmaville bits - Hurley, Kate and Jack at the cafeteria (LOL at Hurley being a chef), Kate and Juliet talking it out at the motor pool, Sawyer's "Three years - no burning buses. You guys are back for one day..." Liked the Sawyer/Juliet bit - totally enjoying these guys as a couple (don't break them up, writers!).

Alright, time to get some work done.
