So Very Lost

| | Comments (0)

Bandit didn't have agility class last night, so Marc and I went to the store and got stuff to grill burgers for dinner. We lounged around, watched Obama's press conference on the DVR, and then caught up on Monday's episode of "House." Yeah, we kinda watch too much TV.

So of course after all that, it was time to watch "Lost." Some spoilers from here on out! I thought it was a good ep - it filled in some of the holes in Daniel's story, and raised some interesting questions. It was interesting to me why he was so upset at seeing the footage of the plane crash. Seems like somehow his use of his experiments on himself maybe somehow flashforwarded his mind to the future, and he's retained memories of his future friends on the island.

I don't know what the motivation of Mrs. Hawking sending her son to his death was. She obviously knew what was going to happen, and she seemed (to me) to genuinely care about him (even if she was a total bitch), so I wonder why she did it. Does she feel like she has to preserve the timeline? Is she trying to protect the island somehow, even at the cost of her own son?

Can these guys really change what happened? I'm pretty sure Jack isn't going to be successful in finishing what Daniel came back to do - he's not going to be able to undo the crash of Flight 815. But what if he does something that still manages to change the past (future) somehow?

Only two more episodes left, eek! There actually haven't been that many spoilers about these last two - some tidbits here and there, but nothing very detailed, so I'm pretty in the dark. Which is good, because if that stuff was out there, I don't know that I'd be able to stay away. The only thing that kills me to not know is who's going to die. I knew Dan was going to die, but I still don't know who the finale death is going to be.

I have two main guesses, mostly going by process of elimination and the various clues that have been dropped. Obviously Juliet is one - and the preview for next week with her and Sawyer exchanging "I love you"'s again seems to just scream that these two are going to be tragically separated somehow at the end. But I've been watching some of the cast interviews for the finale lead-up, and Elizabeth Mitchell was on Jimmy Kimmel (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_ykgHiHx0I - nice interview) and she basically stated that she's not dead at the end, although it sounds like the fates of some people might be left as a cliffhanger. She sounded sincere, but who knows, maybe she's in cahoots with the showrunners and she's lying. I have no idea anymore, this show makes my head hurt.

My other guess is less obvious, and I probably would've never thought of it if it hadn't been for certain spoiler clues I've read, so I'm not going to say who it is. Two more weeks until we find out, but I want to know now, dammit!
