Weekend

We had a pretty nice weekend - did some stuff but mostly it was relaxing. I managed to sneak out of work early-ish on Friday (would've been even earlier had my "client" not been two and a half hours late). It was Marc's Friday off, but he was having a work bowling thing, so he ended up getting home only a little earlier than I.

I'm fairly certain we did something after I got home, but I'm drawing a blank right now. It's possible, of course, that we just hung out at home and did nothing. I did get my new earphone cables in the mail, so I was excited about that. The only thing is that they have an odor that is not unlike pot, and it's a pretty strong odor. I assume it's something left over from the manufacturing process, although my original set never smelled like this. Hopefully it'll go away soon.

We watched How to Lose Friends and Alienate People that night on DVD. I rented it mostly because Gillian Anderson was in it, although Simon Pegg is kind of awesome too. What was funny was that we were watching a scene where Gillian had about 5 minutes of dialogue, and right after she leaves, Marc turns to me and says, "So where's Gillian? I thought she was in this movie?"

The movie was pretty good though, a good rental. Pretty funny, and I even found Kirsten Dunst to be less annoying than usual. Likable, even.

Marc had to get up early on Saturday to go to work, and I slept in a bit. Got up and bathed the dog - I ended up having to use cat shampoo on half of him because I ran out of dog shampoo. I think the cat shampoo side might have turned out softer! Then I got showered, and headed out to grab lunch. I was wearing sweats, so Bandit assumed this meant I was going somewhere fun for him, and he snuck out into the garage with me. When I called him to come back into the house, he just put on his best puppy-dog eyes and walked further into the garage. So I acquiesced, and let him hop into the car to go with me. I don't think he expected to just go to the Arby's drive-thru, but I never promised him it was going to be anything more than that.

I took care of a couple things in the fish tank, then watched TV for a bit before falling asleep on the couch. Marc got home early in the afternoon, and ended up taking a nap upstairs. When I woke up, I went upstairs and found him asleep. I prodded him awake and asked him why he didn't wake me when he got home. He said, "And you woke me up to ask me that?" and turned over and went back to sleep. I think I made a pouty face and trudged back downstairs.

I brushed Bandit out that afternoon - I hadn't done it in a while, and he just had a ton of loose undercoat. I ended up having to do it outside because the fur was just flying everywhere. Ended up with a nice big ball of fur at the end.

We went out in the evening - had dinner at Fuddruckers, and then went to see Fast & Furious. Not the greatest money to spend $11.50 on, but we hadn't been out to see a movie in a long time, so I thought it would be nice to do. It actually wasn't a terrible movie - it certainly wasn't great, but the action scenes weren't bad.

Sunday we went out for dim sum with my family. Yum. Did a little shopping at Best Buy afterwards (I got a cooling pad for my laptop) and got some Cold Stone ice cream.

Had a dream last night that I was in the grossest bathroom in history (although maybe not as bad as the Port-o-Potties at the snack stand on the Road to Hana). There was no paper either. Not even any toilet seat covers. I can't remember how I resolved that problem though.
