Got in to work super early today, because Marc needed to. Right now I'm sitting in my new, second office, which is my boss' old office, which is significantly smaller than my other office. I'm keeping two offices now, mostly because I have to spend time in two different buildings, and this way I don't have to just hang out in the lab during downtime. The walls here seem thinner than my other office, because I can totally hear the person next door talking on the phone. I don't think she's doing work related stuff. But then, neither am I at this moment.
Meant to blog yesterday, but just never got around to it. There wasn't much to say anyways, other than to talk about "Lost." I won't really get into spoilery stuff, but it was a great ep - Ben and Locke together are always fun, and Michael Emerson's line readings are always awesome. I kind of like this new, reincarnated Locke, although I worry that his new-found smugness is setting him up for a big fall in the future. Poor Locke has always been so easily manipulated - is that going to change?
(The lady next door is still on the phone, and now I can totally hear the person she has on speaker.)
Anyway, new ep next week, and then I think the following week is a clip show focusing on the Oceanic 6, which is so meh. Oh well, here's hoping they'll show at least some clips of the on-island crew. "Grey's" returns that week, so at least the week won't be a total loss.
On "AI" they kicked Scott off, which was no surprise (I almost got the bottom three right - Anoop was my miss). As nice a guy as he seems to be, he just wasn't good enough, and keeping him on longer was starting to seem patronizing.
Yesterday after work we went to eat at the new Buffalo Wild Wings place that opened down the street. Kind of a cool restaurant with tons of flat-screen TVs all over, and some arcade games too. The wings weren't bad - comparable to Wing Stop, but still no Anchor Bar.
"The Office" had two new episodes on, which was surprising. I think they probably used it to lead in to that new "Parks and Recreation" show. The first new ep was okay, but the second one was hi-larious. The whole thing with Andy and Dwight's new bromance was awesome, especially the "Country Roads" bit. Ed Helms is made of win. And Michael's "I gotta go mom, P is being a B" cracked me up.
Discovered last night that my fancy new pump in the fish tank had fallen loose - it attaches to the tank wall by a magnet - the motor is on the dry side, and it spins a propellor on the wet side. I tried reattaching it, but it would run for a few minutes before falling off again. Tried some of the troubleshooting suggestions, but none of the possible problems seemed to be there, so I ended up at a total loss as to what the problem could be. I called customer service this morning, and it looks like I basically have to send it in to them to have them fix it. Sucks.
BTW, does anyone want a free (legal) download of the entire No Doubt song catalog? I was given two downloads for the concert tickets we bought, and obviously I only need one. E-mail me if you want it.
Have a good weekend, all.
