Blood, Sweat, and Wedding!

I had yet another appointment Saturday morning at the clinic. My right arm was starting to look pretty jacked up from all the blood draws, so I had them try to draw from my left, which as I may have mentioned before, is a total pain, because the veins in that arm are nigh-impossible to find. The phlebotomist did actually manage to hit it on the first try (unlike the previous time), but it inexplicably stopped giving up blood after only a couple mLs. She tried moving the needle around a bunch, but no joy. They finally decided that they had enough to run the tests they needed, and I could be spared further pain/annoyance.

I ended up with a nice bruise on that spot, which was lovely.

Got a call later in the day (when we were shopping at the mall, of course) with instructions to do my HCG trigger shot at 8pm sharp. Woohoo!

We spent some time on Saturday shopping and chilling at home before getting ready for Vicki and Kelly's wedding in Livermore. We also had to drop off the TL at Acura for brakework. This car has been expensive these last couple weeks. The wedding started at 5:30, so I had to pack my shot in an ice chest and bring it with us. We got out the door a few minutes late, picked up Elaine and her boyfriend, Dean, and the four of us rushed down 580 in the Mustang.

I think we managed to get there just at 5:30, but we still managed to get there sooner than a lot of people. The ceremony was outdoors at a winery, and mercifully we were sitting in the shade, as it was pretty damn hot that day. We were sweating like pigs!

I got to see some friends from high school that I rarely get to see, like Corrie and Bhawana, which was fun. And we found out that Leslie and Maynard got engaged! Very exciting! Right before dinner, Marc and I snuck out so that I could get my shot done. It was nice and easy and painless. All in all, it was a lovely evening, although I couldn't wait to get out of my shoes.

I ended up sleeping a lot today - sooo tired. I woke up this morning and 6, then again at 8 and couldn't go back to sleep. I stayed up through lunch but then zonked out on the couch for like three hours. Pretty much took it easy all day. We did, however, go out for a McDonald's ice cream run tonight. Stubby was in the garage sleeping on the car, and as I was pulling him off, Marc said, "Eh, just throw him in the back seat and we'll take him for a ride." Which isn't quite like taking a dog for a ride in the car.

It was funny though, because after a few minutes of yowling, I think he actually started to enjoy it. He came up front and sat on my lap and then got up and placed his paws on the door so that he could look out the window like a dog. I did, however, feel really ridiculous having a cat sitting in my lap as we went through the McDonald's drive-thru.

So tomorrow is retrieval day! It's scheduled for 8am, so no sleeping in for us. Since I have to go under general anesthesia for it, I have to stay home for the rest of the day. I'm not going to complain! So fingers crossed for lots of good eggs tomorrow.

hope everything went smoothly! enjoy your day-off. =)

Just to let everyone know, the procedure went perfect this morning. Other than being a little tired, she's doing great and napping now. We’ll know more tomorrow, but look like they retrieved approx 25 eggs, of which 12-16 are expected to be fertilized. We’re on track for transfer this Sat. Now the fun part, the Progesterone shots :)

So THAT'S where you guys snuck off to during dinner when they called your names for a kiss demo. There was some rampant speculation as to why you managed to avoid a PDA. :)

LOL yeah, we found out that we'd missed out on our turn. Everyone said that they were going to call us again, but they never did. Which is probably lucky for Vicki and Kelly considering what we had up our sleeves. ;)
