Maybe Sunday!

Well, it sounds like my egg retrieval, originally scheduled for Monday, may be moved up a day to Sunday. I went in yesterday morning for my usual sono/bloodwork appointment as well as a pre-op appointment with one of the doctors. She told me that based on how my follicles were looking (a number of them were mature), that they would likely move it up a day.

So if it does end up being Sunday (and I should find out for sure this afternoon), I'll be doing my trigger shot tonight (which means one less night of Lupron and stims shots, woohoo!). I had another appointment this morning, and things seem to be looking good. My doctor says I'm having an "excellent cycle" so that's good. Today I had a bunch of mature follicles, as well as a lot of intermediate and small ones. I'm not sure of the exact count, but it seemed like there were 20-something follicles in each ovary. Out of those, I think they're expecting to retrieve about 8-10 mature eggs. Each of the mature ones measures about 20 mm in diameter, so my ovaries are pretty big right now. I'm starting to feel a bit more discomfort, but it's not too bad.

I'm supposed to take it easy though, so I guess no crazy dancing for me at Vicki's wedding this Saturday. :(

We watched "The Office" finale last night, which was great. I won't spoil it in case, but I didn't see that surprise ending coming. Well, I kind of called it earlier in the scene, but it was still a sweet surprise. See, this is the kind of stuff I don't mind being unspoiled about! Deaths are a different story!

I watched the "Grey's" finale after, and I gotta say, I hate cliffhangers! I actually didn't get teary or cry for once - I think I'm just all sapped out after Wednesday, and really, it would be hard to top the emotional resonance of the "Lost" stuff (which I can't stop watching - I must be a sad and crazy masochist, because it still makes me cry). I was really shocked about George though. I was even a teeny bit spoiled for it, and it still went over my head. Didn't see that one coming at all.

I did have more thoughts on "Lost," but I'll probably save it for next week. If my retrieval is on Sunday, the embryo transfer will be on Friday, and then I'll be stuck in bed for two days. So it'll give me something to do. :)
