My inner geek is excited today: the new Star Trek movie is out! I was a pretty big Trekker back in the day, although it was mostly "The Next Generation" that I loved. Never watched the original series or any of the subsequent spin-offs, but I did watch most of the movies, including the ones that had the original series cast.
This new film is a prequel to the original series, with the same characters, but younger. Still, I'm excited to see it, because it's getting rave reviews, and JJ Abrams directed it (he's the guy who created "Alias," "Felicity," and "Lost" - I never watched "Alias," but absolutely love the other two shows). So I'm gonna get my geek on and go see this tonight!
"The Office" was hilarious last night, and the dancing stuff was lovely in a surreal way. Pam and Jim were just too cute. "Grey's" was great too, and it made me cry again. I'll blame the hormones this time. I used to not care if Izzie lived or died, but I guess now I want her to live. I'm tired of people dying on my TV shows!
Oh, I forgot to talk about "AI" yesterday. Not too shocked Allison went home, I think the voters just didn't warm up to her enough. I was annoyed that she got sent home instead of Danny though. I thought maybe his scream fest from the night before might garner him the boot, but alas, no. We mostly fast-forwarded through the results show, although we did stop to watch part of Paula's "performance" for her new single (which sounds a lot like her last one, to me). God, that was awful. I don't know why she even bothered with the illusion that she was actually singing, because I've never seen more obvious lip-synching in my life. It was great to then see No Doubt perform, and note the blatant difference with Gwen Stefani actually, you know, singing, as she ran and jumped all over the stage. Chris Daughtry performed too, and he sounded a bit sharp at points, but I still like him.
Aaaand, that's all I've got! I'm just waiting now for my IT guy to show up - he was supposed to be here an hour ago. I want to go home early today, dammit!
