Had a nice, busy weekend, which was followed up by a tedious day at work yesterday that just about melted my brain. But hey, inow t's Tuesday, which means we're that much closer to Friday again.
Friday afternoon the permanent fosters for the kittens came to pick them up (along with mom). I got a little sad saying goodbye to the cute little suckers.
Marc and I went out for sushi for dinner, and rented The Wrestler. It was a pretty good movie, although pretty darn depressing. What was hilarious though, was that Marisa Tomei plays this stripper/exotic dancer in the movie, and there's a scene or two of her pole dancing. The funny part of that was that I recognized some of the moves from our pole dancing lessons. I was giggling to Marc, "Oh look...see...lead up with the butt, booty shake, head flip!"
On Saturday we mostly ran errands during the day, and watched the Kentucky Derby. That was an awesome finish. We drove down to Milpitas in the evening and met up with my brothers to watch Wolverine. The movie was okay. Better than X3, but not X2, and it would've had to have been awful to have been worse than X3. The action wasn't bad, but after about the third time you see Wolverine and Sabretooth running at each other, you start wondering why they couldn't have thought of at least one other unique way for these guys to start off a fight.
Sunday we had planned to have brunch with friends and then go for a bike ride, but it ended up raining the whole day. So Elaine and Leslie and their boyfriends came over and after brunch we decided to try to go bowling. Turns out there was some charity event going on, so we ended up going to, you guessed it, the movies. This time we watched The Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, a romantic comedy with Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Garner. I don't really get the appeal with him, but I actually thought he was fairly charming in this one. Not a bad movie, probably rental worthy.
After that we went to Steve and Erin's house to celebrate Allison's birthday. We had fun watching her tear into her presents, had dinner and cake, and then headed home to finish laundry and stuff before bed.
I had an early appointment this morning for yet another sonogram as well as a blood test. Everything seemed to look good, and I'll find out later today from my nurse about the blood test and whether or not I'm good to start stimulations tomorrow. The Lupron shots have been going fine - haven't bruised myself since the first day, which is nice. We'll see how the stims go - I'll be injecting about 225 units of that combined, compared the Lupron, which has been only 10 units so far. Then I go back on Sunday morning for yet another sonogram and blood test.
Time to get some work done - someone has apparently stolen my lab coat from my lab, which is annoying. It was long overdue for a cleaning anyways, but it's the only one I have in this building. At least if I catch someone wearing it I'll know, since it has my name on it.
