Bored

I am bored out of my gourd at work this week. Trying to get some stuff done, but not getting responses from the people I need them from, and so I'm stuck twiddling my thumbs. I did have some issues pop up at around 4 yesterday (of course), so I at least earned part of my paycheck for that day.

When we had lunch with my family over the weekend, we were walking through the parking lot when my dad suddenly remarked, "Wow, your legs are really short!" To which I replied, "You're just now noticing?" and also, "Thanks, Dad!" I hate that my legs are stubs. Makes driving with a clutch a pain. It's only thanks to my disproportionally long torso that I'm as tall as I am.

My mom also seized the opportunity to once again try to prove that she's taller than me (she's not), which is something she's been trying to convince herself of for over 12 years, or however long its been since I stopped growing. She walked up next to me, and my brother proclaimed that she was, indeed, a smidge taller, but then we realized that she was wearing shoes with heels, and I was wearing flip flops, and my mom was foiled once again in the height battle. I don't know if she thinks she's going to get taller suddenly, or if I'm going to get shorter, but if anything, she's going to be the one that starts shrinking first!

We of course watched "Jon & Kate Plus 8" on Monday, and to no one's shock, they announced that they're separating (Kate also apparently filed for divorce that day). Sad. It used to be a nice show, watching these kids grow up and watching how these parents handled raising 8 of them on a day to day basis. Now, I feel guilty for watching it, because it's become more and more clear that the show has become a cash cow for these guys, and it's also uncomfortable to watch a family just fall apart.

Anyways, got a call from my IVF nurse to confirm that we still wanted to go ahead with a cycle in August, which we do, of course. They're trying to synch up my cycle with someone else's so they can do them concurrently, which should be interesting. I did finally get undepressed (is that a word?) long enough to do a little reading on antagonist cycles, and it seems that not only do they involve fewer shots, but they're also a bit shorter. So, bright side. Let's just hope I don't make scrambled eggs again.
