Okay, so time to rise up out of my funk, if at least temporarily, to talk about our annual Disneyland vacation last weekend. In short, it was a fun, relaxing trip.
We flew out really early Friday morning, and flew on Jet Blue for the first time. Really nice flight - good leg room, and the personal in-flight DirecTV was awesome. While I don't have many qualms with United, I've flown them a lot for work, and they really do have the most shiteous accomodations, at least compared to the other airlines I've flown. No leg room, and the seats are like rocks.
Anyways, so our flight down was cool, and I almost wish it were longer! I watched an "ER" repeat on TNT. I think Marc watched a "West Wing" repeat. And I know this is all so interesting to everyone.
We dropped our bags off at the hotel, and went to the park. Spent the day going on a bunch of rides, then went back to the hotel to check in. We ended up having to wait an extra hour for our room to be ready, but it was worth it. For some reason we got a free upgrade to a suite, and man it was cool. It had a living room with a pullout sofa, a wet bar, a huge bathroom and bedroom. Two balconies, and two flat panel TVs, each with a DVD player. From one of our balconies we could watch the fireworks show at the park. I almost wish we had other people with us, because the room seemed so wasted with just the two of us in it!
We spent two days in the park - we even went on It's a Small World, which I don't think I've been on since I was 12. I don't know if they changed much - the rumor is they had to redo the ride because people have been getting so fat, that they were having to half-load the boats because they kept bottoming out in the trench. They have new boats now that are lighter, and supposedly they retrenched the "river" to be deeper. (There's a story on it here, a few paragraphs down the page.)
The second day we were there, Marc had signed me up to get a massage at the spa at our hotel, and we made the mistake of going on the rapids ride just before my appointment. I got drenched, way more so than usual - my pants were completely soaked. So I ended up having to show up at the spa wearing a whole bunch of soggy clothes since I didn't have time to go back to the room to change. That wasn't so bad - it was getting back into them after my massage was done. Ick.
We spent two days in the parks, which was enough to ride all the rides we wanted to a couple times, shop, and just generally relax. I don't know why we like Disneyland so much, but we do.
On Sunday we drove to Manhattan Beach to check out my cousin Kate's new place, and to have lunch. We also got to hang out on the beach (she's literally less than 2 blocks away) before we had to leave for the airport.
We flew in late in the afternoon, had dinner with my folks, and then picked up Bandit from their place and headed home.

Oh man!!! I should have hung out in your room during my 3 or 4 times i drove by Disneyland. Hee!
