I am officially one day post transfer today. Yup, we made it to transfer, and even better, we were able to transfer two embryos. We actually, surprisingly, had 4 normal ones that made it to Sunday (day 5). The downside is that all were lagging a bit in development - they chose the two best ones, however, and we decided to let the other two try to grow one more day to see if we could freeze them. I admit I was tempted to ask if they should just transfer all 4 of them, you know, for insurance, heh.

Had my egg retrieval yesterday. It was early in the morning - had to get to the clinic at 6:45 am, and my retrieval was scheduled for 7:30. Things went well, and they ended up retrieving 13 eggs. It's about half of what they got last time, so kind of disappointing, but not entirely unexpected.
We got some decent news after my sonogram on Saturday - things looked better, and my doctor felt comfortable proceeding with the cycle. There were about 8 mature follicles, and I think they were hoping to see 8-10 in order to get enough eggs.
I'm cursed, I know I am. Had my pre-op consultation this morning, as scheduled, and heard the words I was dreading: "There's a possibility we may have to think about cancelling this cycle."
Blogging right now while watching "Wipeout" and refusing to watch that Octomom show. I'm pretty pleased with myself that I'm not even all that tempted to take a peek at it. On the flip side, I watched "My Antonio" the other night, so I don't have all that much to be proud of.
I actually took a couple naps this weekend, which was a nice change of pace for once. We were still somewhat busy, but managed to at least find some downtime.
Doing some late night catching up, as I've been pretty remiss with blogging this week. I'm starting to work on different projects now, so work has been kinda crazy lately. As for work, it looks like I'm going to be gainfully employed a little while longer. They're telling me now that my last day probably won't be until February or March. Which is a good thing, but man, my brain has been really ready to check out for a while now.
First injection is away - here we go again!
It feels like I've been slacking on blogging, although it looks like I actually blogged on Friday, so I'm not really that behind. I don't really have anything all that thrilling or entertaining to share anyways.
Sorry, not feeling energetic enough to come up with a more clever title. I'm dragging today, like I've been all week. Still, it's at least Friday, which means we can soon put this week out of its misery.
Now that my main lab is all packed up and currently riding on a truck cross-country, work has suddenly become quite boring. I'm actually not sure what I'm supposed to be doing right now. I probably should be catching up on my lab notebooks, which I am embarrassingly behind on. I can't remember if I've mentioned it, but it looks like I'm going to be employed until at least the end of October, and very possibly the end of the year, or close to it.
This weekend wasn't nearly as crazy as last weekend, but we still managed to keep pretty busy. I started it off on Friday when I went to the Cal Women's Football Huddle for the second year in a row.
