I realized it's Thursday, and I haven't recapped my weekend at all, since I've been busy wallowing in self pity these last couple of days. I'm trying not to be depressed - because really, what can I do about it? - but I admit that on Tuesday I felt like I just wanted to curl up in a ball in bed and just make the world stop. But I'm slowly starting to get moments of clarity again - all I can do is move on to the next cycle, and try to see what I can do different or better. Hopefully, somewhere at the end of this hellish ride, we'll find happy news.
Prior to Tuesday's letdown, we actually had a pretty nice weekend, though I can't remember what we did Friday evening. On Saturday, we had our new bedroom furniture delivered in the afternoon (we finally have a proper bed!), and as soon as the delivery guys were done, we were at BART headed up to the Cal game. We met up with Kenny in Berkeley, and since Leslie has been out of town, Elaine came with us.
I'd won tickets to the game via Twitter, and picking them up turned out to be kind of a fiasco. They were supposed to be waiting for me at will call, but they weren't there, and I had to go to ticket services to get help. Apparently they knew I had tickets, but they just weren't sure which ones were mine. I think we ended up waiting around for 20-30 minutes. During that time, some girl at another window turned to us and asked if we could please loan her $10. She kept saying she would pay us back, we could give her our phone number or bank number or whatever. Marc and I just gave her the $10 and told her not to worry about it. It seemed silly to have this girl try to track us down just to pay us back ten bucks. And I certainly wasn't going to give her my bank account number!
The game was great. We got in a little late thanks to the ticket shenanigans and missed a touchdown, but it was still a lot of fun. Marc and I had to leave midway through the third quarter so we could go home and do my injection, but by that point the game was already a blowout.
Cynthia and Steve came over Sunday afternoon to hang out - Cynthia and I baked cupcakes, and we had dinner and played games. Monday morning I drove down to Fremont to meet up with Deepali and Vicki for brunch and to finally see Vicki's new place.
We rescheduled Bandit's vet appointment to this evening, as I felt more comfortable having Marc with me there, since he can be difficult at the vet. Hopefully he'll be alright, because he's getting shots today too.
And that's about it - watched the season premiere of "Glee" last night, which I thought was pretty fun. It'll probably be one of the new shows I'll check out this season.
