Wow, so I totally intended to blog while I was on vacation all last week, but that just didn't happen. In my defense, both Marc and I did get sick, and thus ended up sleeping lots, and when we weren't sleeping, we were trying to catch up on all the things we'd planned to get done during our staycation. So that didn't leave much time for blogging, although I'm sure if I really, REALLY wanted to, I could've made the time. But I'm here now.
So like I said, the two of us both took all of last week off. Mostly just to get a break, as we haven't taken an extended vacation this whole year. There was also a bunch of stuff around the house that needed to get done. We'd planned to take a day trip somewhere, but we both caught colds, and spent a few days just sleeping and recovering.
On Saturday we had a Halloween party at our house - did the usual pumpkin carving, and since it was actually Halloween that day, we also handed out candy to trick-or-treaters. Marc and I dressed up too, both as Star Trek characters (me as Uhura, Marc as Spock). These were our backup costumes - the Dharma Initiative jumpsuits I ordered ended up getting delayed and didn't get to us in time.
We decorated our house even more this year, as did our neighbors, who apparently think we're all in a competition now. We later found out that a bunch of kids skipped our houses because they were too scary. Wusses! There was one cute little Asian boy though, that was probably not much more than 2 and dressed up as a lion, that wasn't scared at all. He came right up to our door and after he got his candy, stood there and started roaring at the screaming mummy we had on our door. Sooo cute.
We also went to a corn field maze, which was huge, and pretty cool, but also sometimes frustrating because we kept finding ourselves going around in circles. I was wearing non-sensible boots and ended up having to take them off because I was running out of skin on the top of my toes. Marc was nice enough to let me wear his sneakers for the rest of the time. It took us an hour to get out of that thing!
Marc and I also bought a new ping pong table while we were on vacation. We set it up on Sunday (it took a while), and have been having fun playing it in the garage during the week. We suck, but we're getting better.
We re-watched the "V" pilot, which premiered on Tuesday! I liked it so much more than the "Flash Forward" pilot. I'm hoping the next three episodes are just as good, so that we'll get more in the spring.
Oh, and if you're not watching "Modern Family," you should start now! Such a funny show. I can't believe how much good new TV there is this year.
