I Totally Just Wrote Yesterday

| | Comments (1)

Check it out, I'm blogging for the second day in a row. Awesome.

I didn't run yesterday, but Marc and I did go for a late-night walk with the dog. It was super cold, but we bundled up and had a nice walk. My body is not thrilled about being made to exercise. They say it starts to get easier once you've done it for a while (that's what she said!), but I don't think I've ever gotten to that point. At least not since my freshman year in high school.

As far as work goes, I think I'm pretty much officially staying until the end of March. We're still busy and doing work, surprisingly, and I think it's mostly because everyone is trying to get papers published and simultaneously avoiding having to start clean-up activities. Have I mentioned yet that I'm on a published paper? I didn't write it, but I did enough work on the project that I'm second author, which is pretty cool. So now you can actually go to PubMed and search for my name, and it's there!

My mom is doing better - she's been back at work, and seems to have more energy now. She's back on dialysis, unfortunately, and eventually is going to need another transplant, but I think things are relatively stable right now. I mentioned to her before that I should get tested to see if I'm a match, but she won't take a kidney from a family member. I think I should get tested anyways, just in case, but I don't know if she'll even let me do that much.

I've got agility class tonight, which I really should go to, as we haven't been in over a month (with the IVF stuff and the holidays and all). It just kind of sucks because it's so cold, and there's so much TV on tonight (I think?), and there's also the Oregon-Oregon St. game, which I'd really like to see. Oh, the sacrifices we make for our pets!

I watched "Glee" last night, and I gotta say, that while I love the show, I do have mixed feelings about it. The creator is the same guy who created "Nip/Tuck" and there are points in the show where you can tell it's the same guy. But whereas "Nip/Tuck" was generally firmly rooted in the crazy, "Glee" seems to kind of go back and forth between nuttiness and reality, and it's sometimes hard to reconcile the two. I feel like sometimes I'm watching two different shows in one. The whole fake pregnancy story drove me batty, because I just can't believe that Will could be so stupid as to not know that his wife wasn't pregnant, and that not ONCE had he seen her naked since she got "pregnant." I mean, what husband would go for months without touching his pregnant wife's belly even once and not think that something was up? How can I root for the guy when he's so dumb? The whole scenario was so absurd that I finally threw my hands up and acknowledged that clearly, this wasn't rooted in any sort of reality and that I'd just have to set aside my disbelief, and that was fine, until they had the big reveal last night and it suddenly all became very realistic. I just found it so jarring.

Oh well, I mostly watch for the singing anyways.

Anyways, that was kind of a hodgepodge of stuff. My brain is turning more into mush as the day goes on. Will try to be more coherent next time.
