Our rug for the living room arrived yesterday - much to our surprise, as they'd told us they would call us to let us know when to expect delivery, and we never got a call. I came home from work yesterday and there it was, on the doorstep.
Unfortunately, the color is a little darker than what we saw in the store, and it doesn't really go with the furniture as a result. So I think we're going to have to return it and try to find another one. Which sucks, because it hasn't been easy to find one for this space, as the dimensions aren't the most common.
Marc and I are doing some marathon viewing of season 5 of "Lost" to refresh ourselves for the season 6 premiere next Tuesday. I can't wait! Seriously, if you've never watched the show, you need to rent it on DVD.
Cynthia and Steve got us a little hooked on board games, so we've also been playing Carcassone (sp?) a lot at night. We tried to go to the Games Workshop at the mall to see if they had any other games, but it turns out that store is solely for games like Warhammer and Lord of the Rings (surprisingly they didn't have Dungeons and Dragons). I've never played any of those kinds of games before (aren't you surprised?). The guy in the store started making a pitch to us, showing us all the game pieces and how they're like model kits in that you can paint and customize all the little people and stuff. I kind of have to admit I was intrigued. I let my geek flag fly and told him about how I used to play Warhammer Online and stuff. He asked if we wanted to learn the game, but Marc and I declined. I told Marc that I might go back when I'm unemployed, haha.
One project I thought of for when I'm done with work is to try to make my own cat trees. We just bought one for the cats, and it was expensive, considering all it is is MDF plywood and cheap carpet. I think it might be fun to try to make my own. I've seen some other homemade ones online and they all kind of look ghetto, to be honest. Would be cool to make something that looks a bit more like furniture and less like a scratching post.
Boy, I bet you wish your life was as exciting as mine!
Still playing Modern Warfare 2, although mostly on weekends now. Sometimes I do pretty well, and other times I really stink. There are some really annoying/hateful people on XBox Live though. It never fails to surprise me just how many douchebags there are in the world. Thank goodness for the mute function.
I left work a little early yesterday (it's so boring now that all we're doing is cleanup activities) and went to the bank to deposit some checks. I parked the car, and was sitting in there for about a minute while I finished endorsing the checks. All of a sudden, my door opens, and some guy starts to get in the car!
I looked up, totally confused, and for a second I actually thought that it was Marc, and I started thinking, "How the heck is he here? Did he leave work early too?" All I said was, "Oh!" which was pretty much the same thing the stranger trying to get in my car said.
He quickly walked away and I closed the door, and as he walked around my car he looked at me kind of sheepishly and raised his hand apologetically. I think he was as shocked as I was!
Alright, I better get back to cleaning. Joy.

you can just come over to our place to try out more games. =) you should try out settlers of catan next!
