So I was going to try to talk about "LOST" and what we did over the weekend, but I'm just so freaking busy at work these days that there's no time. So weekend tomorrow - 'cause I gotta get this "LOST" stuff off my chest! (Spoiler warning if you haven't seen it!)
So, I have no idea what's going on. I mean, I have theories, but I still don't know what the overarching dealio is with the island and everything that these people have gone through. It seems like we're looking at an alternate (parallel?) reality here. Did Jughead explode and was it a big enough event that it caused the timeline to split? We now have one reality where the island is underwater and Flight 815 doesn't crash, and things are different, even before these people got on the plane. We can see Dharmaville on the underwater island - so did the island sink in 1977 as a result of Jughead exploding? How do you even sink an island anyways?
The other reality of course is the one that the present day (2007) Losties started in and remain stuck in. Where this is all going, I don't know. Somewhere along the way I'm sure we'll find out what the relationship between the two timelines is and maybe they'll converge somehow.
The whole thing with Fake Locke being Smokey was kind of awesome. "I'm sorry you had to see me like that." This show has the best lines. And chains? Was Richard a slave on the Black Rock?
And of course, poor, poor Juliet. I felt like between the recap ep beforehand and seeing her dragged down that Swan shaft multiple times before seeing her die for reals, we must have seen her die like ten times. It was heartbreaking! I was glad she got to die in Sawyer's arms though, and not all alone at the bottom of that shaft, because that would've sucked worse. And poor Sawyer. The two of them made me cry so much.
Her last words were interesting though. "We should get coffee sometime." "We could go dutch." She was smiling, clearly happy, and I'm pretty sure she must have been shifting through time/realities like Desmond did after he blew up the hatch and like Charlotte before she died. That's when she realized that "it worked." So who knows, maybe it was Sawyer she was talking to in the alternate reality. That's what I'm hoping for. Or maybe she'll finally get reunited with her sister. She deserves a happy ending though - she's paid her karmic debt many times over everyone else, I think. I won't hold my breath on seeing her and Sawyer end up together at the end, but I'm hopeful. It'll be sad not seeing her again for a while though, the show just isn't the same.
I have no clue what the other Others are up to in the temple, and who the Japanese guy is and what his role in all this is. So confused. I also don't think Sayid is himself anymore - he died, and now it seems like he's possessed by something, doesn't it?
Ugh, so much to process!
