Ugh, I swear, one of these days I'll get back to being more consistent with writing. It's been tough as I'm not at my desk much these days. Still, I can do better. I am a little less moody of late, which is nice, haha.
Marc and I were bored last Saturday and decided to spend the afternoon at the Great Mall in Milpitas (thrilling, I know). We went to the Saks 5th Ave. outlet, where they were having a sale on jeans for 25% off. They had the jeans I bought! Similar, at least. Their regular sale price was the same as what I'd paid, plus the additional 25% off. I thought about returning the ones I got, but with shipping and the cost of shipping them back, it just wasn't going to be worth it. So I did what any smart girl would do, and I bought another pair of jeans (it's really my Valentine's Day present, lol).
I did find a cool site that sells designer jeans at really nice discounts. They only sell one pair at a time, and they only have a couple in each size (although they say you can sometimes e-mail them to see if they have extra), but everything is like 50-70% off. citizenblues.com.
I took in my other pair to get altered - I pre-washed them too, and they still had to take about 4 inches off. And this is measured to the point where they hit the floor when I wear heels. I hate having short legs.
On Sunday, Kenny and Cynthia and Steve came over to watch the Super Bowl. I think we were all rooting for the Saints. I didn't have a huge preference, but I thought it would be cool for New Orleans to win, and plus they had the only Golden Bear in the game, Scott Fujita. Great game, but the commercials, by and large, sucked. And that stupid Tim Tebow ad was over before I even realized it so I never even got to change the channel. Hooray for a colossal waste of $3 million. But yeah, even the clydesdales were disappointing this year.
I tried making lasagna for the first time for dinner, and it turned out pretty well. I don't think I'll be making it again for a while though, because Marc and I have been having it for leftovers almost every night this week and we're pretty damn sick of lasagna now.
And of course, there was a new "LOST" on Tuesday! It was a Kate-centric ep, which meant that hardly anyone liked it, but I thought it was okay, even though it didn't advance the plot a whole lot. I'm a little worried about how they're structuring this season, with character centrics that are giving us not flashbacks, but alt-backs, just like in Season 1. I mean, it's cool that we get to see what would've happened with these guys (provided this timeline/reality proves to have significance, and I can't imagine it won't), but it's kind of frustrating in a way to get it piecemealed out one character at a time when you expect the story to really be steamrolling along in this last season. Who knows, maybe that'll change.
Jack on island is starting to become more likable again. He's still got a lot of work to do, but I liked how he handled the whole pill thing with Sayid and Dogen. Kate on island is still annoying as hell. Following someone (Sawyer) again when she's been told not to and thinking he could help her with her problem when he just buried his girlfriend a few hours ago. I'm glad she finally saw how dense she was, but STILL. Maybe she'll learn a lesson from it. I doubt it, but one can hope.
And poor Sawyer. He's just so bitter and guilt-ridden and sad. And he had a RING (I assume he had someone bring one in on the sub, unless they had a Jared on the island). Juliet must have been a hell of a snoop if he had to hide it under the floorboards (I know, it was the most convenient way for the writers to stow that thing for 30 years). Seeing him toss it into the ocean was a nice parallel to when Desmond did the same thing with Penny's ring. But the whole scene on the dock was just so sad it made me cry...again.

I don't know where the hell this show is going at this point. I have a feeling that things won't end well for our Losties on the island, but that they're going to have some sort of chance at redemption and maybe a second chance at life in the alt reality. It's really interesting because things have already ended badly for so many of them - Locke dying as pretty much the same pathetic man he always was, Sayid being seemingly unreedemable and now somehow "claimed." You figure there's got to be some sort of payoff for it. I can't wait to see what it is.
