Well, after my little outburst on Monday, I felt a little better. I had an appointment for abdominal massage and acupuncture (the acupuncture was cancelled since the cycle was cancelled) that afternoon. Even though it's a little weird having someone massage your, as my ex-coworker Christine called it, "jiggly bits," it's still pretty relaxing and I generally just end up sleeping for the duration of it. So that helped me calm down a bit.
Aside from freaking out over whether or not my cycle was going to get cancelled, I did manage to have a pretty good weekend. I made a beef rib roast on Friday for dinner, and Jan came over and joined us. We watched Mist: A Sheepdog's Tales, which was a cute, if slightly silly collection of these fictional stories about talking border collies living on a sheep farm. Um, I don't recommend it to anyone who isn't crazy about sheepdogs.
I played some Modern Warfare 2 before bed, and had one match where I scored 26 kills with only 4 deaths in hardcore team deathmatch and had the highest score out of everyone by far. It was GLORIOUS. I did pretty sucky the rest of the night, but I didn't care, I was too busy reveling in my sweet victory.
Saturday night we went out to dinner to celebrate Cynthia's birthday at Chevy's. We went back to their place afterwards for cake - Cynthia had made an ice cream cake, which was great. We played some fun games too - Wits and Wagers and something called Pit, I think. It was pretty funny, although I had a pretty good headache afterwards from all the yelling.
On Sunday we drove down to Morgan Hill to celebrate Brenda's birthday (March babies rule!). Had some great barbecue chicken and yet more birthday cake. This month is making me fat!
So of course "LOST" was on last night. (Spoilers from here on out.) I liked it, didn't love it, but I had kind of expected to hate it because of the Sawyer/Kate stuff I'd heard about. I can't help it, I got caught up in the 'shipper mess of this show, and now half of my 'ship is dead, which sucks. But it wasn't quite as bad as I thought it would be, and I'm actually not all twisted in knots about it.
I loved that Miles was Sawyer's partner again, and I still like crazy Claire. Especially since she tried to kill Kate. But her nuttiness has just been a hoot to watch this season. Sawyer is apparently a manwhore in any reality, but I guess that's fine since we get to see him shirtless a lot.
Next week is a Richard episode, and I'm pretty excited about that.
