Got the call that I get to go ahead and trigger tonight, hooray. So that means I'll be going in for my retrieval on Sunday (no day off of work, boo). I'm not complaining though - I'm more than ready to be done with my shots!
No progesterone intramuscular shots this month either, since we're not doing a transfer until next month. There's still a lot of anxiety at this point though - how many eggs will they get (my left ovary is a champ, by the way), how many will fertilize, what will the quality be on day 3, how many will get to blastocyst on day 5/6, how many will biopsy successfully, and how many will be unaffected. And if we have unaffected blasts to freeze, we have to wait until next month to hope that they thaw successfully and then it's on to the transfer itself.
IVF is a process full of milestones, starting from the first day of bloodwork. It's nervewracking. The worst part for me is after fertilization, because that's when we've had the most problems. We've never gotten good news on day 5. So those phone calls in the days after retrieval are always the most stressful for me.
Haven't done much in the last couple nights - TV has been mostly reruns. We watched a little of "Idol Gives Back," but changed channels halfway and missed Tim Urban getting booted, not that I care that much. We went out for dinner last night - my cousin Derek was in town for the evening, and we took my grandmother out to dinner. We went to Outback, as all of us still have some Chinese food fatigue from the wedding weekend.
I did follow the first round of the NFL draft online yesterday. Was shocked but thrilled to see Tyson Alualu get picked at #10 overall (to Jacksonville). I don't think anyone saw that coming (although Mike Mayock mentioned his name right before the pick got announced). Jahvid Best went #30 to Detroit. Only two Pac-10 players picked in the first round, and both were from Cal! Awesome.
Have a good weekend, all!
