I had acupuncture and massage yesterday afternoon, and left feeling quite relaxed. Until I got in the car. As soon as I hit traffic on 580E and had to deal with all the assholes driving on it, my state of relaxation evaporated.
The assholes I'm referring to are those that dart into the exit lane (often crossing solid lane lines, hashed off areas, etc - this time, one of the people totally cut me off) - MY exit lane - drive to the end of the exit lane, and then stop and merge back into traffic to continue going east on 580. The only saving grace is that my exit has two lanes, so I can at least use the right-most lane while these jack-offs clog up the other lane.
I don't get why some people think their time is more important than others. And why they think it's okay to come to a full stop in the exit lane as they try to merge back into traffic. There are occassionally cops there that have pulled people over for this crap, but people still do it all the time. Jerks.
And then while I was in the car, I tried to call Marc (who was still at work). This is how my conversation with the hands-free in the TL went:
Me: "Call Marc's work."
TL: "Pound, four, zero. Say call, or dial."
Me: "CALL Marc's work."
TL: "Would you like to call...'Leslie's cell?'"
Me: "Call MARC'S WORK."
TL: "Two, four, two. Say call, or dial."
Me: "CALL. MARC'S. WORK."
TL: "Would you like to call...'Marc's work?'"
Me: "YES, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!"
And then of course, the audio proceeded not to connect (sometimes it will dial the phone, but the car speaker doesn't activate), so I ended up having to talk to Marc on the speaker on the phone itself. Ridiculous.
I made some banana bread yesterday - two versions, one with walnuts and one with chocolate chips. They turned out well, but my bananas didn't ripen as much as I'd hoped (they had some brown spots, but they weren't really mushy), so the banana taste isn't as intense as I expected. I kinda decided to do this at the last minute, so next time I'll be better prepared.
I was hoping to get my Invisible Shield for my iPad in time for our trip, but it seems like my order is lost or stuck somewhere (at least in the vendor's records system), so I don't think that's going to happen. Now I'm just going to have to be uber careful with it so that I don't scratch it, or go with another case.
Ooh, I need to try to blog from my iPad. Next time!
