Working My Fingers Off

Then the other night I was working on a project for this career transition class I'm taking, and I was using a hot glue gun. I was having issues, and a glob of glue dripped on the chair, and without thinking I went to wipe it off with my finger. It hurt like holy hell. My finger seemed to be fine the next morning though, and I haven't lost the skin there, which is a good thing, I guess.

We had a pretty low-key weekend. I took Friday off and Marc got off work early, so we ran a few errands in the afternoon. We watched 2012 that night, which was an atrocious movie, although unintentionally hilarious in some parts. I mean, I guess it was entertaining, but it was just so damn stupid. And I was really annoyed by the fact that the women in the movie were all completely useless, and the guys did everything. Even the little girl was useless, while her brother actually did stuff. If I were Amanda Peet, I would've been embarrassed by how little my character actually did.

I spent all of Sunday making a cake for my cousin and uncle's birthdays. I made another strawberry and whipped cream chiffon cake, like the one I made for my mom's birthday. This time I managed to not make it lopsided, and overall did a better job on piping the borders. My lettering was still terrible though, so I clearly need to practice that some more. The cake was pretty tasty though.

We're also fostering again - we picked up a tabby mom and two newborn babies over the weekend. Mom is pretty scared, and I'm not sure if she'll end up being adoptable (someone else will take her if she's not, so we won't be stuck with her). Still, it's kind of nice having little kittens around.
