I'm on the phone right now with Marc going over how to handle what
should be the last batch of live rocks we need for the aquarium. We had them shipped
overnight, and they arrived this morning (Marc has today off). So he's going through
the arduous process of prepping the rocks to go in our tank, which involves dipping them
in carbonated saltwater to get any bad critters out, and then dipping them in regular
saltwater before plopping them in the tank. Hopefully we won't have a ton of stuff
dying on there and polluting up the tank - I had him smell the rock and they smelled
fine to him (bad smell indicates that something is dying).
I can't wait to get home to see how it all looks, these should be
pretty colorful rocks.
Last night I was sitting on the living room floor cuddling with Bandit
(when the breeder told me that male Border Collies were more cuddly, I didn't realize
she meant THIS cuddly). He was sitting there in front of me, when I blew in his face -
he's never liked it when people blow in his face. So I do that, and he falls to the
floor on his side, and rolls over onto his back, like I just blew him over, LOL. I did
it a few more times, and he kept doing it. So I praised him a bunch each time, since
it's kind of a funny trick. What a goofball.
I'm trying to clicker train Stubby too. He'll sit for food now, which
is pretty cool for a cat I guess. Lately he's been quite the attention hog, he follows
me around everywhere when I get home and just meows incessantly. I think he's jealous
of the time I've been putting into the fish tank. That should be settling down soon, so
I can give the little butthead the attention he's used to. ;)
I've definitely reached my saturation point with pets! Poor Hammy is
probably getting short shrift right now, although I try to take her out and let her roll
around in her ball for a while (the other night she was rolling all over the place
between the office and the bedroom). I don't think I have time for any more! Well,
maybe another dog when we get a bigger house and yard. :)
Talk about this in the forums!
