Last night Marc and I went to go pick up some macro algae from this
guy in Fremont who had posted an ad on craigslist.org. The macro algae was awesome,
there were a ton of sand stars in there, some worms, and teeny little snails. He lived
in north Fremont, so to get home we drove to Mission and then headed north to try to get to 580, not really knowing where exactly we were headed. As we were driving, we saw a
fish store on the side of the road. Of course, we had to stop by!
This place was massive. I've never seen a fish store so huge. We
walked in, and walked underneath this arch made of acrylic, and filled with water and
saltwater fish. They had every piece of equipment imaginable, my brain was getting
overloaded. The best part was this display tank they had in the middle of the store.
It went all the way to the ceiling, and must have been 1500 or 2000 gallons. TONS of
saltwater fish in there, including a few large Dory fish (hippo/blue tangs).
They had a huge wall of tanks with every sort of saltwater fish
imaginable. I even found a small Valentini puffer, which was the puffer I originally
wanted to get, since they only grow to about 5" long, but had never seen at any store.
They had some very cool looking fish there, and a few tanks just full of corals. We
stopped in just before closing, so we didn't have too much time to look around. We'll
definitely have to go back!
So tomorrow I'm taking the day off for my birthday. I know, it's
silly, but I need a day off anyways, so this is as good an excuse as any. Don't know
what I'm going to do yet, but I do know I'm going to have fun doing it. :)
Talk about this in the forums!
